Not because of the number. But because of the question behind it: Why actually?
Suddenly there is time for a second coffee. For a walk without a goal. For conversations that do not take place between the door and the angel. The phone is losing importance. The calendar is the same. Instead, the small things move forward. breakfast together. Wet towels on a leash. An evening by the water. The sunset you actually look at until the end.
Perhaps therein lies the secret.
None of the three motions I heard of needed a big stage. No fireworks. No crowd. No spectacle.
In everyday life, we often talk about organizational matters. Who buys? Who drives? Who thinks about next week’s appointment? On vacation, people talk about themselves again. About wishes. About dreams. about what is yet to come. And sometimes also about the future for two.
Just the right moment. Perhaps this is why a campsite is a much more romantic place than many suspect. Not because it's particularly exciting. But because it creates space. For rest. For near. And sometimes even for the most important question of life.
