Sometimes the Baltic Sea holiday does not start on the beach. But on the quiet lapping of a small creek that winds through the campsite. Between meadows, trees and the shallow Wohlenberger Wiek lies the Baltic Sea Spring Camp – a place where the sea, nature and a fairly clear thought come together. The road to the water is short. A few steps across the road and your feet are in the sand. The bay is flat, sheltered from the wind and especially popular with families. Children collect shells, build castles and keep running into the water, while the Baltic Sea simply does not want to get deep. What makes the Ostseequelle.camp special is not always immediately seen. Here, sustainability is not posted, but lived. The place is one of the pioneers of sustainable camping in Germany and works emission-free during the season in all directly influenceable areas. Electricity comes from renewable energies, photovoltaic systems produce their own solar power on the roofs and when investing, care is taken to act as sparingly as possible in terms of resources. For this purpose, the place was certified with the EU Ecolabel and the ECOCAMPING award. Nevertheless, nothing feels like giving up here. More like a vacation that will be easy. After breakfast in the morning sun. After a round on the pitch-up paddle board. After a sauna between trees. After children who still have sand in their shoes in the evening. ostseequelle.camp offers spacious pitches for campers, caravans and tents as well as various rental accommodation. Modern sanitary facilities, family bathrooms, a small shop with fresh rolls, a restaurant, Wi-Fi, bicycle rental, e-charging stations and even a coworking hut are part of the offer. Dogs are also welcome and are happy about dog shower, run-out possibilities and the nearby dog beach. If you like, start directly from the square on the Baltic coast cycle path, explore the Hanseatic city of Wismar or drive to Boltenhagen. But many just stay there. Because sometimes everything you need for a successful holiday is already available: a place by the sea, a bit of wind and the feeling of being just right.
