About this place

Anyone who arrives at Lake Arnum quickly notices that no one is trying to represent something here. The lake is just there. Between reeds and trees. With ducks that care little about holiday trends and trails that are made for an evening walk with no destination. The campsite has grown something. Something you can't plan. Many guests have been coming here for years and that is exactly what shapes the mood. We are greeted. They know each other. And who is new, is surprisingly fast. In the morning, the water glitters between the pitches. The first coffee cups rattle. Somewhere a dog is greeted as if he were an old friend. Later, families sit on the shore, children disappear towards the playground and on the lake birds draw their circles. Nothing seems staged. Rather like a place where the days have found their own rhythm. And then there is this special mixture of nature and city proximity. Hanover is only a few kilometres away. Close enough for a trip. Far enough to hear the rustle in the reeds again in the evening. When the sun slowly disappears over the water and the conversations become quieter, you understand why so many guests keep coming back. Not because of a spectacle. But because of this rare feeling that a day at the lake can be completely enough.
